Titas plays “Epitafio” in Lolla 2024
With a career spanning four decades, Tita closed out the reunion tour in style, with a set of songs that defined country rock.
In a Lollapalooza edition that brought back old hits with The Offspring, Blink-182 and Limp Bizkit, all from the 90s, Tita goes even further, straight into the 80s.
The setlist was pared down to fit the festival. “Diversão”, “Lugar não” and “Home primata” were the first to be accompanied by the audience in choruses.

When speaking to the audience, Branko Melo received great applause: he had undergone treatment for throat cancer, which led to a change in his voice.
He celebrated being alive and on stage and received a standing ovation. Encouraged, he sang “I'm Tired.” Melo also took the lead with “I Don't Know How to Make Music” and “Cabeça Dinosaur”.
On “Flores”, one of the band's biggest hits, there was a technical problem and he had to start over. The audience even brought out a chorus to enhance the power of the track.
They took the opportunity to show scenes of the band at the beginning of their career, including scenes of Marcelo Frommer, who died in 2001, composing the song “Epitáfio.”
This was the first track for the audio portion of the presentation. This resulted in one of the show's most beautiful moments: at Sergio Brito's requests, the audience followed along with lit-up cell phones and then swung their arms from side to side, in sync with the music. “Cegos do Castelo” and “Pra diz adeus” were also included in the vocal selection.
Marcelo Frommer, who died in 2001, was also honored, with his daughter Alice participating. She took the stage to sing “Toda cor.”
The set also included “Back”, “You Need to Know How to Live”, “Televisão”, “Bastard”, “Polícia” and “Bichos crotos”. The reunion ended with “Sonífero Ilha”, the band's first hit single. Who knows, we might see them together again in ten years.
“Prone to fits of apathy. Problem solver. Twitter buff. Wannabe music advocate.”
