The delegation accompanying the Department of Science and Technology visits the military organizations in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – Between June 28 and 30, Chief of Science and Technology (DCT), Army General Achille Forlan NetoHe visited the military organizations in Rio de Janeiro, accompanied by a delegation from the Department.

The Army’s Center for Telematics (CTEx), a supporting body of the Department of Science and Technology responsible for overseeing and implementing technology research, experimental development, standardization, and technical evaluation of materials used by the Armed Forces. During the visit, ongoing projects were presented.

At the Army Evaluation Center (CAEx), located in Guaratiba, in the western region of Rio de Janeiro, next to the CTEx, the courtiers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the infrastructure, testing and evaluation (T&A) activities of the military.

The visit also included the Agency for Innovation and Technology Management (AGITEC), of the DCT, which is responsible for centralizing information, providing advice and developing actions that promote the increase of scientific and technological capabilities and the development of new Earth defense products and systems. Force, in favor of the use of dual technology.

During the visit to the Military Institute of Engineering (IME) Commander Brig Jurassic Ferrera GaldinoHe guided the delegation through the institute’s facilities and presented the most important ongoing projects. Distinguish the Cyber ​​Security Laboratory for Cyber ​​Systems (LaSC), which will allow studies and analyzes in the field of cyber security of sensitive industrial infrastructures vulnerable to real attacks, and the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Cybernetics (LIA), dedicated to basic and applied research in the field of robotics and related artificial intelligence technologies military and civilian applications. In addition, the Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) visited the ongoing works of the building attached to the IME, to be able to check the progress and get acquainted with the technical details.
