Student Isadora Klein Diehl, from Colinas, and student Guilherme Arthur Petry, from Cruzeiro do Sul, were selected for the event, which involved 90 students and teachers from all over RS. Isadora is a grade 7 student at Emef Ipiranga, a municipal school in Colinas, and lives in the municipality of Estrela.

In addition, she earned a silver medal at the 16th Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public and Private Schools (OBMEP) and achieved an excellent performance in the Junior Scientific Initiation Program (PIC). In doing so, she was selected to participate in the VII PIC/ONE Connection in Porto Alegre.

In addition to Isadora, Guilherme Arthur Petry of Cruzeiro do Sul also represented Vale do Taquari at the event in Porto Alegre. Isadora and Guilherme’s teacher is Natália Bernardo Nunes from Passo Fundo.

The VIII PIC/ONE Connection is a regional meeting that includes lectures, workshops, forums and games, where teachers and undergraduate and basic education students will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from different cities in Rio Grande do Sul.
