The Planetarium in Vitoria, during this holiday period, adapted its activities to the current context of the pandemic and moved its activities from the Goiabeiras sanctuary to Enseada do Suá. During January, the Planetarium, in collaboration with teams from the Center for Science, Education and Culture in Vitoria, presents a special program in Praça da Ciência, near Curva da Jurema.

There will be some planetarium sessions and workshops on astronomy topics and a guided tour of the solar system in scale, which is one of the permanent facilities on the plaza.

Planetarium sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am and 3pm. Workshops are held on Wednesdays and Fridays, also at 10am and 3pm. Both activities have a maximum of 15 places per session, which are filled in order of arrival.

A guided tour of the Solar System at the Scale and Sundial takes place at regular times in Praça da Ciência (Tuesday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; on weekends, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s 12 noon. ).

In addition to activities in the planetarium, those who go into the field can learn about and participate in the activities of the School of Science and Physics, the School of Science – Biology and History, and the School of Innovation.

The Vitoria Planetarium arose out of a partnership between Jovis and the municipality of Vitoria, and opened in 1995. Its goal is to teach, disseminate and popularize astronomy and related sciences.

The Science Arena opened in 1999 and contains a collection of sixteen science instruments that the public can interact with.
