With great support from the local community and the hope that it will be a fruitful seed, Paracatu’s first international literary festival, Flipparacatu, was launched on Wednesday (23rd) celebrating art, literature and origin. In its first edition, the event pays homage to two great names in literature: the Brazilian Conceicao Evaristo, who is already in town, and the Mozambican Mia Couto, whose presence the public expects in a series of activities this Friday (25 ).

The Fliparacatu Program started in the morning with fun activities for the kids. At the end of the afternoon there was a quilombola presentation from the Amaros community.
