The João Rock Festival announced the full lineup for the 2024 edition this week. CPM 22, Emicida + Pitty, Ney Matogrosso and Os Paralamas do Sucesso are among the attractions. In addition to the confirmed artists, Black Pantera's absence surprised the band itself, which decided to prey on the organization.

On November 20, which is National Black Awareness Day, the event posted a message on social media Video titled “Black Rock”. Minas Gerais musicians appear in part of the recording, which consists of photos of different black singers and a narration about the importance of diversity in music.
At the time, many fans took to the comments section and requested that Black Pantera be part of this year's lineup. However, the request was not met.
