Bristol airport staff in the UK laughed “in the face” of a 6-year-old boy who was unable to go to Disneyland in the US, after his flight was canceled on Sunday (29).
According to The Mirror, when he learned that he was not going to the amusement park, the boy, known as Oliver Cole, began to cry. He was accompanied by his parents.
Also, according to the newspaper, the family arrived at the airport around 8:30 pm, but they were surprised by the delay in boarding the plane. After more than two hours of waiting, it was announced that the flight had been cancelled.
Airport televisions showed that the flight was still running, although it was delayed. About 20 minutes before take-off, the gate number showed up, there was a huge queue, but no actors, just a sign saying “Flight Canceled.”
According to Cole, the airport staff laughed when little Oliver broke down in tears, complaining that his vacation had been spoiled.
About 100 people were escorted out of the airport after the cancellation, with one attendee describing the boy as “disgusting,” the father told the newspaper.
Cancel the dream of meeting Disney
Oliver’s mother, Anna Cole, 42, told the newspaper the family had spent the past two years saving enough to fly to Disney.
According to her, Oliver and his 15-year-old older sister created their own calendar to enjoy the “dream journey”.
However, the family canceled plans because there are no new Disney flights on the airport’s agenda.
According to the newspaper, the family is now planning to take their children to the amusement park during the upcoming school holidays later this year.
