School of the Future: Students participate in the National Science, Technology and Innovation Week

This event was an opportunity for students to showcase the work they have developed in their schools.

The five pilot schools of the Escola do Futuro program participated in the State Science, Technology and Innovation Week, held from Monday (30) to Wednesday (1), in Vila Velha. The event was an opportunity for students to showcase their work that they developed in schools using technological resources such as 3D printers, laser cutting machines, virtual reality glasses, digital games, application development, and artificial intelligence.

Cua Riquelme Jogi Nieves Santos, a student of the State School of Elementary and Secondary Education (EEEFM) Major Alfredo Pedro Rabaioli, located in Vitoria, was one of the students who participated in the event.

“We had great days at the exhibition. We know that today technology and innovation are reaching huge places in the world. We need to move as technology moves. I want to thank Sidhu, you have really managed to integrate technology, education and sustainability. I am very happy,” the student said. “With my participation in this exhibition, I am sure that it will be the first among many others.”

The presented work focused on sustainability and was prepared using an innovative methodology – project-based learning, where a problem is identified and, based on it, action is developed to find a solution.

“In addition to presenting the work, it was also an opportunity to exchange experiences on the topic of innovation and technology,” said Elizabeth Nogueira, educational coordinator at SEDO.

The Escola do Futuro certification aims to encourage innovation in schools, linking pedagogical projects to the transformation of material, aesthetic and technological characteristics. To this end, teachers from initially accredited units received special training, aimed at enabling practical experience based on creative learning, as well as sparking reflection on pedagogical intent and helping teachers develop learning experiences compatible with digital culture. The topics covered were “Creative Learning”, “Play” and “Digital Tools”.
