Brazil defeated the USA 2-0 this Monday (20) to take the lead in the PC (cerebral palsy) football competition at the Parapan American Games in Santiago-2023. Brazil’s goals were scored by Cesar Bautista and Mathias Cardoso. Closer to a place in the finals, the team plays again this Tuesday at 5pm against hosts Chile.
After losing the last round against Canada, coming off a one-win, one-loss campaign, Brazil came into the match against the USA in high spirits. The competition was tough though. This was because Brazil could not convert the chances created into goals and only managed to open the scoring in first half stoppage time with Cesar Bautista. Mathias Cardoso scored Brazil’s second goal early in the second half.
In this way, Brazil achieved its third victory in three games in the PC football tournament at Paraban de Santiago-2023. The tournament consists of six teams, competing in a single group. After playing against each other, the two best teams at the end of five rounds advance to the finals. At the moment, Brazil are isolated at the top of the competition, three points ahead of Argentina and Venezuela. The United States and Chile each have three points, while Canada is in last place with zero points.
Brazil’s next game is against Chile in Santiago. The match will be held today, Tuesday (21) at 5pm at the Bicentenario Municipal Stadium in La Florida. The last match of the first leg is against Venezuela on Wednesday (22) at 2:30 pm. The final will be played on Saturday (25) at 7.30 pm. Check out the PC football schedule in Santiago-2023.
