The user base of Apple Arcade, the company's game subscription service, is similar to the frequency of Steam and Nintendo Switch Online users, according to estimates by Midia Research. As for the service for PCs and Nintendo consoles, 11% of consumers in the US access it weekly, compared to 10% for Apple Arcade.
The research report highlights that Apple's performance is double that of Ubisoft Plus and Nvidia's GeForce Now at 5% and 4% respectively.
Launched in 2019, a catalog of mobile games can be accessed here for R$14.99 per month, without additional purchases or advertising.
Currently, players can access Apple Arcade titles on their iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac. However, Apple Vision Pro will launch with more than 100 Apple Arcade titles.
In parallel, the same research indicates that both Apple and Netflix, which have seen growth in gaming areas, are finding success largely through non-monetized games included as part of their respective subscriptions and/or propositions.
However, the time spent developing the potential success of pure-play games companies is strengthened by each new successful original released by these companies.
