A rabies-infected fox has bitten a congressman and eight others in the United States

The Washington DC Animal Control Center announced tonight that a wild fox caught after biting nine people outside the U.S. capital should be euthanized by rabies victims.

The animal was caught yesterday following a complaint to the Capitol Police in this regard. He was euthanized just hours after the rabies test results were released today.

Among the “victims” of the error – all without serious injuries – was Democrat Congresswoman Amy Pera.

“Congratulations everyone. I feel good and happy to be back at work. I hope the fox and her family are relocated and have a prosperous future for them,” the congressman joked on Twitter.

Another person bitten by a fox was journalist Jimena Bustillo, who reported on the Capitol of the Politico newspaper. “Are you saying I survived three years by an infection bitten by an angry fox?”, He asked.

According to the Center for Animal Control, warnings about rabies detected in foxes were spread across the Capitol and bitten people were encouraged to seek health care.

In conversation with an American broadcaster NBCAmy Pera, a physician and congresswoman, said she had been treated for rabies and should not “play with wild animals.”
