The Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato, and the Minister of State for Higher Education, Pedro Nuno Teixeira, visit the Coimbra School of Nursing (ESEnfC), on April 24, starting at 11:00 am.
The visit includes a special interest in the European project ARSim2Care – Application of Augmented Reality in Clinical Simulation, developed by ESEnfC through its participation in a consortium with two other higher education institutions and a computer engineering company.
The project expects to create software, using augmented reality, that will provide a virtual visualization of the internal anatomical structures of the human body that were hitherto impossible to observe.
Elvira Fortunato and Pedro Nuno Teixeira will also learn about UICISA: Electronic Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, which includes researchers and collaborators from 24 institutions of higher education and health.
The Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs will also take the opportunity to visit the ESEnfC Student Residence, which, thanks to a rehabilitation operation within the scope of the National Plan for Housing in Higher Education (PNAES), will provide approximately 170 beds, due to financing of approximately 1 million 700 thousand euros.
