Ufal University opens 20 places for Master's Degree in Information Sciences – Federal University of Alagoas

The Federal University of Alagoas (Uval) announces through the Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies (PROPEP) that registrations are open for the Master's Degree in Information Sciences with entry in the first semester of 2024. They are 20 vacancies offered and interested and parties can register free of charge via the Integrated Academic Activities Management System ( Speed) until 11:59 pm on the 29th of this month.

According to the notification, which is available in full as an attachment at the end of this page, all holders of a university degree issued by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC) can participate in the selection process. Graduates can also register, but must submit a declaration that they are graduates, issued by the course coordinator, along with their registration documents.

Furthermore, all required documentation, which can be seen in full on pages 4 and 5 of the Notice, must be entered electronically during registration in PDF format only. Documents must be scanned, and missing or unclear digital copies will prevent the application from being accepted. Printed documents will not be accepted, but those approved must submit original documents at the time of registration.

About the selection process

Of the 20 vacancies, ten will be allocated to the broad competition method, four to black (black or brown) people, one to indigenous candidates, one to transgender people (transgender, transsexual or transvestite), refugees and settlers, and two to people with disabilities (PwD). ) pursuant to University Council Resolution No. 82/2022 (Consuni) and one for Oval employees. If there are no registered or approved candidates for quota vacancies, they will be automatically posted to the general vacancy system.

The selection process will consist of three stages, the first two of which are of an exclusionary nature and the last of which are of a categorical nature. These are: a test of specific knowledge in information science (weighted 4); Oral defense of the primary research project (also weighted 4) and analysis of the latte approach (also weighted 2). It is important to emphasize that those competing for general and quota vacancies are required to complete all stages of the selection process.

The final result of the selection process for the Master’s degree in Information Science is scheduled to be announced on April 12, with the registration period beginning the following week, between the 15th and 19th of the same month.
