On Wednesday (25), the Minister of Health, Nicia Trindade, and the Minister of Civil Home, Rui Costa, discussed strategies for resuming the national program to reduce waiting lists and to increase the intensity of implementation of the National Immunization Plan (NIP). ). It is expected that, with the participation of states and municipalities, waiting lists for exams, scheduling surgery, and adherence to immunization will be ended.

In the continuation of health plans – among the objectives to be delivered in the first 100 days of government – Trinidad will meet on Thursday (26), at the Planalto Palace, with representatives of the states and municipalities to address this issue. On Friday (27), the meeting will be with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva – to present the proposals discussed.

The supreme government wants to resume relations with other spheres of power to speed up federal campaigns. “At the request of President Lula, the focus is on reducing waiting lists for exams and surgeries across the country and strengthening the national immunization programme. The Minister of the Civic House stressed the support of the states and municipalities so that we can achieve these goals.

Some of the proposals discussed refer to incentives in the Mais Médicos programme.

Regarding PNI, the intention is to start the month of February with a vaccination campaign against Covid-19 and other diseases in the programme, especially those with low immunization coverage and already eradicated from Brazil, with an emphasis on children. The Butantan Institute has sent more than 700,000 doses, and there are contracts to send two million doses between Pfizer and the ministry.
