Globo may produce a Brazilian version of the talent show with avatars

“The Masked Singer Brasil” was one of Globo’s new productions in 2021. Since its debut, it has been a hit from the audience. In August, more precisely on the show that was broadcast on the 24th, the show with costumed performers broke an audience record in São Paulo, with 22 points and 38%, and in Rio de Janeiro the reality show scored 25 points, with 43% .

With the success of the talent show presented by singer Ivete Sangalo, the network is analyzing a new program called “Alter Ego”, a talent show that will be broadcast by American Fox.

In the show, which has not yet appeared, the singers present themselves hiding behind a virtual character or a virtual character, something very similar to “The Masked”, where the participants perform fully in costume.

In the photos published by American Fox, four judges assess the musical talent of the participant who will not show his face, and will have to create his own virtual avatar to go on stage. With motion sensors, whatever he does behind the stage, the avatar will do in 3D in front of a panel of judges made up of Alanis Morrissette, will.i.am and Nick Lachey.

In the US, “Alter Ego” will be released on the 22nd and will be analyzed by Globo management. If the result is positive, the talent show may enter the schedule in 2022.

If the competition has a good audience and significant ramifications, the channel will start negotiating the rights and creating a national version. It should be noted that due to technology, the cost of formatting is quite high.
