Sunday afternoon (15) was full of celebration for Cruzeiro’s key players. Raposa beat Gremio in Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte, and became champion of the Under-20 Brazilian Cup. During the celebration, in a restaurant in the capital, Minas Gerais, the Celestial athletes took the opportunity to provoke their rival, Atletico.
“The Brazilian Cup has arrived once and for all. And Mineiro, we have already won (inaudible). “I remind you that there is no rival in Minas,” the players sang.
Competition
Weeks before facing Gremio in the Brazilian Cup, Cruzeiro played Atletico in the semi-finals of the Minas Gerais Under-20 Championship, in two classic matches full of provocations. In the first leg, at Arena SESC, in Venda Nova, Gallo beat Raposa 3-1, and in one of the goals of the white and black team, goalkeeper Otavio scored an own goal, which “excited” the rivals.
In the second leg, at the Toca da Raposa stadium, in Belo Horizonte, Cruzeiro overcame the score from 3-1 and won its place in the final on penalties (4-1). Defender Ruan Santos, who was charged with the Celestial classification, imitated a chicken in celebration, in a provocation to his rival.
