247 – In a modernization initiative, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) plans to launch the BNDES digital card, an advanced step in providing financial services to businesses. The new feature, scheduled to launch in May 2024, will greatly simplify the process of obtaining business credit, informs SA panel column, from Folha de S. Paulo.

Currently, applying for a BNDES card involves a face-to-face visit to a bank office, a process that will be overcome with the launch of the digital version. The card will be issued automatically using a virtual card linked to the cardholder’s checking account. This represents a significant improvement in accessibility to BNDES services, eliminating the need for physical travel to obtain the card.

The integration will be implemented with partner financial institutions, such as Banco do Brasil, Itaú Unibanco, Bradesco and Secreted. Each partner will have a dedicated channel called “BNDES Card” on their electronic platforms either on the website or in the app. This channel will make it easier for business owners to access the benefits of the BNDES card, providing a more flexible and convenient experience.

Business credit will be fully digitized through the app, providing business owners with an efficient way to access financial resources. Aloisio Mercadante, President of BNDES, confirmed that the initiative aims to allocate part of the resources of the Investment Guarantee Fund (FGI) exclusively to serve those interested in the BNDES digital card. “We will allocate R$180 million to this fund [de aval] To benefit from up to R$2 billion of loans at low interest rates to this audience,” Mercadante told Panel SA.
