SolSol, from Los Angeles, USA, has produced a cover that can charge your cell phone while you walk.
The cover is made of 100% cotton and contains monocrystalline photocells, electronic power regulators and other components. There are several solar panels on the cover lid to capture the power. It is important to highlight that the edge cap It can not be folded.
The charger input that will be connected to the cell phone is located on the back of the cover.
According to the company, the cover does not use batteries and does not emit radiation, which provides safety for users. But it only works when in direct contact with sunlight and has a 1.45W max charge. The cover is capable of fully charging the phone at around 200 mAh. For comparison, if it took two hours, with SolSol the charge would be three to four hours.
Although the cover is not the most powerful source of cell phone charging, it easily succeeds in rescuing a person in urgent situations using the phone. So far, SolSol is only available for purchase on Amazon in the US. The only complaint from customers was due to the weight, being a few grams heavier than conventional caps.
Devices such as iPod, some iPhones, GoPro cameras, and Android phones with 5V MICRO USB connectors are compatible with the cover.
