At 1 hour, 10 minutes and 44 seconds, the Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Reino Unido da Liberdade closes the doors of Avenida do Samba, in the Manaus Sambadrome, and concludes its tribute to the icon of Amazonian culture, Zezinho Corrêa. Highlights include “Furiosa” from Morro da Liberdade, which mixed samba touches with a boi-bumbá beat in the chorus “In this dance Morro swings and Furia comes to dance.”
Another strong point in the procession of GRES Morro da Liberdade is the frontal commission “As different faces of Zizinho” which in two acts showed during the choreography the birth of Zizinho in the municipality of Karawari of artistic expression, represented by green and white Beirut. Morro da Liberdade's strength lay in the stands where the club's samba choir sang.
“Duty accomplished. Freedom United Kingdom came out inundated as usual. We are very pleased and hopeful of a good result on Monday towards the title of 2023 Carnival Champion,” announced William Pimentel, Chairman of GRES United Kingdom Freedom United Kingdom.
Marcia Siqueira formed the samba school tug team. “Zezinho, wherever you are, this tribute is for you,” the singer said. “It was a great feeling to see this great display honoring this figure from our culture. It was beautiful and touching. The display is here, and the school looks beautiful. We will wait for the result,” he added.
