Workers at the Ezequiel Dias Foundation (Funded) denounced the conditions in the cafeteria after witnessing cockroaches in the place during employees’ lunch hours.

This is reportedly not the first incident this year. There have already been other complaints about the cafeteria, including one filed by a former employee who was fired after reporting the situation, creating insecurity for others to report the situation for fear of retaliation.
In response to Itatiaia, Funed informed that it would notify the external company responsible for running the cafeteria and that it would not renew the contract with the company, which expires in December this year.

“After learning of the complaints and the video of non-conformities in the cafeteria, the Ezequiel Dias Foundation (Funded) decided to investigate the facts and will notify the external company responsible for the management of the cafeteria, with the aim of ensuring safety, in addition to preventing and monitoring risks to the health of employees.
Funed reports that it will not renew the contract with the company, which expires in December this year, and has already opened a new tender process.
The third party company has already been notified by Funed on another occasion. Meetings were also held with the contracting company to demand improvement in service delivery. Moreover, in order to improve internal controls, management and inspection procedures for the current contract, as well as future contracts, the Department has already requested the Divisional Controller to implement audit procedures and determine responsibilities.
The Municipal Health Supervision conducted its last inspection of the cafeteria on 11/23/23 and will be called again by the establishment to investigate complaints and the current conditions of the restaurant.
It should be noted that this way of working and contractual implementation will not be accepted and all measures will be taken.”
