Athletes, family and friends gathered to celebrate the achievement by breaking social distancing protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The athletics team’s celebration of the Mineiro Championship title wasn’t limited to Mineirao Park. After raising the trophy at Gigante da Pampulha, the players organized a special event attended by family and friends, according to photos and videos posted on social media. In the records, attendees are shown without a mask and disrespecting social distancing.
In addition to the cast of more than 30 athletes and their guests, in one of the videos it is possible to see that the celebration also included live music, which is still prohibited by the recent PBH decree with anti-epidemic rules. Atletico’s press office said the players were released after the match to celebrate the title, but the club did not organize or promote the event.
