On the next 26 and 27, a group of 12 students and 8 professors/supervisors from the Campos Municipal and State Public Networks will participate in the Rio de Janeiro State Science, Technology and Innovation Fair (XVI Fecti), which takes place at Praça da Flag in the capital. This is the largest science fair in the state of Rio de Janeiro and includes projects from different sectors and regions.

Students were selected for the 9th National Campus Science and Technology Week, held in October at Jardim São Benedito. During this event, the 8th Science, Technology and Innovation Fair was held, with the participation of schools from municipal, state and private education networks; and the third early years science fair. In these exhibitions, the projects were evaluated by a 5-member jury, including science teachers with master’s and doctoral degrees. In all, projects were selected from three municipal schools and one state school.

The awarded schools are: EM Nossa Senhora Aparecida, with the project “Multiculturalism and Language: Art, Science and Technology in the Appreciation of Living Treasures”; EM Doctor Luiz Sobral, with the project “Robotic Effects at OPT Arte A Luz da Física”; Nelson Pereira Rebel State College, which established the “Microbiological Analysis of Shallow Wells in the Areas Around the Travessão Cemetery in Campos dos Goytacazes”; and finally EM Eloy Ornelas who developed: “Alternative Wastewater Treatment”.

The coordinator of the Campos Local Fair for Science, Technology and Innovation (Femuct), Carla Sales, explains that in addition to the participation of these four school units in the XVI FECTI, the Secretariat for Science and Technology Education (Seduct) will hold a ceremony for awarding other selected projects at the VIII Fair for Science, Technology and Innovation and at the Third Fair Early Years Science: Four early years projects and four projects nominated for honorable mention. The event takes place on Tuesday, the 22nd, at 2 pm in the auditorium of the Estácio de Sá University.
