SC Science Award aimed at black women has expanded applications

The UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina) has extended the application deadline for the “Women in Science” award until June 30. Special Edition for Black Scholars at UFSC. Previously, the deadline for registration was until the last eighth.

Female scholars who are permanent employees of the UFSC can participate in the award, whether they are professors or administrative technicians in education.

The award will be given in three categories: juniors (researchers who obtained their doctorate after 12/31/2015); Full (for those who obtained their Ph.D. between 12/31/2000 and 12/31/2015); Seniors (PhD’s before 31/12/2000).

The initiative was launched on Women’s Day, 8 March. According to the university, the purpose of this procedure is to motivate, evaluate and highlight women in the UFSC, who conduct scientific, technological and innovative research.

Another goal championed by the UFSC is that the award can disseminate research and researchers, thereby inspiring the internal and external scientific community in various fields of knowledge and contribute to the reduction of gender asymmetry in science.

Selection by the jury – July 2022;

Disclosure of the selected – August 2022;

video recording – from August 2022;

Award Ceremony – February 11, 2023.
