In the midst of the payroll campaign for the Class of 2023, the Porto Alegre road workers met with representatives of the Passenger Transport Association (ATP), at the entity’s headquarters, on Tuesday, with each party taking their proposals with them. The highlight of the discussion was health plans for professionals. Those represented by the Federation of Workers in Carriers (Stetpoa) will have to choose between two companies provided to receive the service.
“We received an offer from ATP for a health plan that ignores workers in the blue zone and also serves them 24 hours a day (the Moacyr Scliar emergency care unit) at Assis Brasil. While the current company serves professionals from all over the city,” says Stetpoa’s president, Sandro Abbade. There is still no date for the meeting at which the class will analyze the proposals. “We will hold a meeting with the proposed health plan. According to the road workers, the guidance the employer received was not what the union expected. We are in the game patiently and calmly, we have the time and we will do our best not to get hurt,” Abbad concluded.
The ATP’s legal advisor, Alceu Machado, explained that inflation calculated for health plans is different. In addition, road workers are not involved in counseling, which is something we have been trying to make them aware of for some time, because it regulates the service. He notes that colleagues in the metropolitan area already have a plan in place. Currently, the class pays R$79.50. The employer’s proposal, according to Machado, will not require joint participation and there will be no modification.
