A player is injured when he steps on the grass while reaching for the dispute, without experiencing any contact from another player. Immediately feeling uncomfortable, he jumped and fell on the grass, hitting the ground as he lamented the new problem.

Last month, the 35-year-old midfielder strained the medial collateral ligament of his right knee, in Pulistão’s last group stage match. Because of the problem, he was out in the quarterfinals of the competition, against Ituano.

The duel in Montevideo signaled Renato Augusto’s return to the fields a month later. The midfielder will be reassessed next Friday upon his return to Brazil.
