A realistic cake presented at the King Charles Cake International 2023, which takes place between November 3 and 5, in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The competition is held annually and attracts baking enthusiasts, pastry chefs, chocolatiers and pastry chefs from all over the world.

Realistic edible versions of personalities will attract public attention. Cake designer Emma Jayne created the cake to honor King Charles. According to her, more than 2,500 crystals were used for the crown, which were carefully arranged in the decorative part of the cake. In total, the candy weighs 60 kg.

In an interview with the Daily Mail newspaper, pastry chef Emma Jayne explained the details of the preparation. “The eyes on the ‘King Charles Cake’ took the longest. They were made with modeling paste, hand painted and filled with piping gel. The eyes were completely edible and were placed in the fryer for a day in dehydration mode. This allowed the gel to dry and create a realistic, glassy look.”

On Instagram, Emma Jayne shared a letter from King Charles to the company saying she could attend the event due to other commitments, but left a message for the baker who honored her. “The King thanked me for the invitation to attend Cake International. The King sends his best wishes and hopes for the success of the event.”
