“I have no obligation”: a topic that Luxa took seriously in Corinthians

Corinthians’ first victory under Vanderlei Luxemburgo, against Fluminense 2-0, would be more than enough reason for the coach to finish Sunday (28th) without discontent. But a question about the youngster Pedrino, during the post-match press conference, left him visibly angry.

– Anything outside of that? I will answer you, but you are hinting that something is off. You implicitly ask that there is something. He’s a 17-year-old boy who I put him to play an important game, and he needs more maturity, – answered the coach.

When he arrived at the club, Luxemburgo made it clear his intention to climb up the starting line-up frequently, including Pedrino. Corinthians even removed the 17-year-old from the Under-20 World Cup, with the Brazilian national team, for his use.

However, since then, what has been seen is the ‘disappearance’ of the player, who has not stepped onto the field in a Corinthian club match since May 9. Luxa made a point of commenting on his player’s absence from the World Cup that was held in Argentina.

– Not that I did not let her go to the realms I have to lay [no jogo]. Sometimes businessmen want to force a situation for which the boy is not ready. Today, there are many reasons not to mention Pedro, several reasons not to mention a player who was not in the game, – he added.

Since the beginning of the year, Pedrino has been on the field for 176 minutes over the five matches he has played for Corinthians’ main team. With Luxembourg, the score was 78 minutes in two matches.
