No release date has been set for “Spencer,” a new biographical film about Lady Di starring Kristen Stewart, in Brazil. The feature was supposed to premiere on November 11, but Diamond Films reported that date has been changed: “I’ll be making news of the release soon.”
Full circle in Europe, the film is a fictionalized account of the Christmas holidays between 1991 and 1992. Chilean director Pablo Larren (as “Jack” and “Wonderful Woman”) and his team reproduced a drama to show just how reclusive the princess felt, despite being one of the The UK’s most popular character.
Impressed by everyone, Kristen Stewart’s Lady Di feels lonely, and in Maid Maggie, played by actress Sally Hawkins (from The Shape of Water) she finds a safe haven to confess what ails her.
Maggie is a fictional character, but appears to be based on a real maid that Lady Di was very close to. Faye Appleby, was Diana’s maid for six years. They were very close. In an interview in 1997, Appleby detailed some of his job responsibilities. Have a good morning, open her curtains, make her breakfast, and make her bathroom. Then come back and discuss your engagements and we’ll choose the outfit together.”
According to the Daily Mail, Faye Appleby traveled the world with Diana for six years and secretly got support from the Princess as she battles a brave 15-year battle with cancer. She died in 2002 at the age of 47, leaving behind two children.
