Corinthians does not recognize the agreement to buy Zenit from Russia’s Gustavo Mantuan. In the interview, Medvedev said that Mantuan will continue as a player for the Russian club, noting that the parties have already reached an agreement and that everything is on the right track for the striker to stay in Russia. Last season, Mantuan played 28 matches for Zenit, eight in the starting lineup. He found the net six times, in addition to providing four assists. The young man, who appeared at the base of the Corinthians, won the Russian championship title together with the team.

Mantuan has been with Corinthians since 2011 and made his professional debut in September 2020, in the match against Sport, for Brazil. The striker has made 43 first-team appearances and was one of the key players in Vitor Pereira’s squad for the first half of 2022.
