It turns out that the manufacturer has reported a suspension of layoffs of 800 workers at the Taubaté plant, in the interior of São Paulo. The dismissal of employees was scheduled to begin on the 1st of June.

The exclusion of workers from the auto giant must happen because of low sales rates. The Volkswagen plant in question is responsible for producing Gol’s replacement, the Polo Truck.

According to the automaker itself, the plant will only operate in one shift from next month. In light of this, the giant announced that it would cut staff by 800.

The union suggests that a postponement of layoffs is a precautionary measure, involving negotiations between the federal government and unions. The real goal of this measure is to increase the automotive sector through a program that stimulates the production and consumption of popular cars.
