Airbus estimates delivery of about 800 commercial aircraft in 2024, a significant increase from the 735 units delivered the previous year.
The forecast was released alongside a presentation of revised annual results from the company's commercial aircraft division, which came in at €4.8 billion (US$5.2 billion), up 5% year-on-year.
According to Airbus, this increase reflects not only the greater number of deliveries carried out in 2023 compared to the 661 recorded in the previous year, but also a more favorable scenario, partly offset by investments aimed at preparing for the future.
Commercial aircraft revenues rose 15% to 47.8 billion euros. “We recorded strong demand across all our businesses and delivered on our commitments.”said CEO Guillaume Faury. “It was a significant achievement, given the complexity of the operational environment.”he added.
Although supply chain problems have subsided, deliveries this year will be higher but unlikely to reach the pre-crisis level of 863 reached in 2019, Faury noted in January.
In terms of orders, Airbus set a record high last year with 2,094 aircraft orders, resulting in an estimated backlog of 8,600 units.
