Russian army and Ukrainian guards control the Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhya factories

Russian soldiers control the Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plants, along with Ukrainian guards and officials, Alexei Bolchuk, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Second Department, reports Sputnik.

Polchuk also said that the two stations were back in normal operation and that radiation levels were also normal, “which was confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency.” The official noted that the main task is to “prevent the provocation of Ukrainian national forces against these vital infrastructure facilities.”

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant suffered blackouts again on Monday (14) due to Russian forces, although electricity has already been restored, according to data provided by the Ukrainian authorities. The IAEA, based on information from the Ukrainian nuclear operator, said that “the radiation levels in all nuclear power plants are at normal levels.”
