The performance of 15-year-old Brazilian students in mathematics, reading and science deteriorated from 2018 to 2022.
This is what the data released on Tuesday (5) by Pisa, which is the English abbreviation for the Program for International Student Assessment, showed.
However, the deterioration in performance in Brazil was less than the trend observed in OECD countries, known as the “rich club”.
The quality of universal basic education has deteriorated due to the pandemic, affecting students’ mental health and leading to school closures, Beza says.
