From February 2023, the payment of a PIS / Pasep salary allowance begins, and benefits are entitlement to formal contract workers in the public and private sectors. Next year, the 2021 base year payments will be made, and about 23.6 million workers are supposed to receive the payments.

The PIS/Pasep 2023 payment schedule has been officially released by the Board of Workers Support Fund (Codefat), which administers the FAT. But not all workers will be able to withdraw the salary bonus, it is necessary to meet some criteria in order to be entitled to the benefit.

From February 5, 2023, it will be possible to consult the information to find out if you are entitled to a PIS, for those who have worked in companies, or a Pasep, for those who are government employees. In the same way, the worker can check the amount he is entitled to withdraw, as the amount can vary.

Who is entitled to withdraw?

To receive a salary bonus, you must:

  • be registered with PIS/Pasep or CNIS for five years or more;
  • be paid up to a monthly minimum wage;
  • You performed paid activity for at least 30 days in the base year for the account;
  • You have the correct data in the Annual Social Information List (RAIS) or in eSocial.

Domestic workers, rural workers employed by natural persons, urban workers employed by natural persons and workers employed by natural persons equivalent to legal entities do not receive PIS / Pasep.

The amount of the allowance varies in proportion to the months worked in the base year being calculated. The maximum amount a person can be paid is the minimum wage, if they have worked for 12 months of 2021.

From February 5, workers will be able to check if they are entitled to a PIS/Pasep, which can be done through the federal government portal (http://gov.br/), calling the Ministry of Labor at 158 ​​or through the application of the digital labor card (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=br.gov.dataprev.carteiradigital&pli=1🇧🇷

After logging in, you just need to click on “Benefits” and then “Salary Bonus”. In this field it will be informed whether or not the worker is eligible to receive salary bonus, value, date and receiving bank.

PIS/Pasep 2023 Salary Allowance Calendar

The amount of PIS is paid by Caixa, taking into account the month of birth of the worker. Pasep is the responsibility of Banco do Brasil and is deposited according to the last digit of the program registration number. The amounts are automatically deposited into a checking or savings account at the bank. In either case, the withdrawal can be implemented until December 28, 2023.
