On the 16th, which takes place between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, the Exploratório – Centro Ciência Viva de Coimbra hosts the program that coincides with the National Day of Scientists, in partnership with the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Coimbra, aimed at all publics and has free admission.
In addition to the Science Fair and Conference presented by João Ramalho-Santos, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Coimbra, who will also be presenting Susana Galvão, from the Universities of Santander, A arte de Bordalo II & (lower) PlasticBrain, in the Exploratory Photo Gallery of Exact Sciences. Between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Water – Unfiltered Gallery will be open to all visitors.
Intended for a school audience and also included in Invasive Species Week 2023: Portugal and Spain, there will also be two Alerta courses! Sight is invasive, admission is free, but with a mandatory appointment.
National Scientists Day was established in 2016 to celebrate and recognize the innovative contribution of the scientific community to the advancement of knowledge. The date of birth of José Mariano Gago, former Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education and a key driver of scientific development and dissemination of science in Portugal, was chosen in honor of his legacy.
