Mutilated couple found inside garbage bags in Mexico

Victims Nohemí Medina Martínez and Yulizsa Ramírez lived in Texas, USA, and were on vacation in Mexico. Married and left three children

Last Sunday, 16, on a road near Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, two women were found dead inside garbage bags. The local authorities also reported that, in addition to mutilation, the bodies showed signs of torture and gunshot wounds. Victims Nohemí Medina Martínez and Yulizsa Ramírez lived in Texas, USA, and were on vacation in Mexico. Married and left three children.

The two women, both 28, were last seen on Saturday, the 15th, and their families reported missing after being unable to contact them.

Although the case is already under investigation, there is no information about the suspects.

The Chihuahua State Commission on Sexual Diversity considers the case a “hate crime” and requests an explanation of the incident. The Lesbian Mothers Network in Mexico also spoke out and demanded answers from the authorities.

“As governor, but also as a woman, I say and promise, we are working on this here in Ciudad Juarez, we will not let the issue go unpunished and we will not stop working on prevention more than anything else,” said Governor Maria Eugenia Campos.

Ciudad Juárez Police are investigating another very similar case. On Monday, 17, two other women, in their 30s, were found dead in garbage bags. Not yet recognized.
