‘Ghostbusters 5’ confirmed and here’s everything you need to know – Metro World News Brasil

“Ghostbusters: Beyond” premiered in November of last year, leading many people nostalgic for the classics of the 1880s and 90s. With plenty of references to the original films, Ghostbusters (1984) and “Ghostbusters 2” (1989), the new movie is a direct sequel to the classics skipping over the 2016 movie.

At CinemaCon, an event where studios announce their upcoming releases and network with major global cinema chains, it was announced that “Ghostbusters: Beyond” would receive a sequel. The event took place this week in Las Vegas.

In fact, since the release of the fourth movie in the franchise, there has already been talk of a possible sequel. In November of last year, director Jason Reitman revealed that he already had ideas for a sequel: “I wish I could talk to you about it. Well, I’m just saying we have a plot that isn’t in this movie and we have ideas going forward.”

Ghostbusters: Beyond was praised by critics and fans, who found a narrative thread effortlessly connecting the events of the new film to the originals. However, the film was a modest success at the box office, grossing $197 million worldwide, and having a budget of $75 million.

The movie paid for it, but Jason Reitman wants more. It should be noted that Jason is the son of the late film director Evan Reitman, and is the director of the two original films in the franchise. Evan Reitman died in February of this year, age 12, at his home in Montecito, Santa Barbara, California, in the United States. He died in his sleep, according to information from the Associated Press.

The new movie not only saw the return of the living ghost hunters, but also added new members. McKenna Grace, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, and Carrie Cohn played Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts very well.

Little has been said about the possible new plot, but it is known that there is a strong tendency for the great central theme to be family again.

Ghostbusters: Beyond has paid tribute to fans of the series, the late Harold Ramis, who plays ghost hunter Egon Spengler. Director Jason Reitman knew how to use this trick, bringing the beloved character back to the big screen.
