The Ministry of Finance reported on Wednesday (13) that 924 companies with receivable debts have registered for the Desenrola programme, a program created by the federal government to renegotiate debts.

The deadline for banks, retailers, water, sewerage and energy companies, among others, to join the program and inform which debts they wish to renegotiate expired yesterday.

The aim of this phase of Desenrola is to renegotiate the debts of the public in Band 1, made up of those who:

  • has an income of up to R$ 2,640 (minimum wage) or is registered in the Unified Register of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) and
  • You have debts of up to R$5,000 which are negative until December 31, 2022.

◀️Debt liquidation: According to the Treasury, debts registered by companies in the program will now be filtered to verify whether they are debts of people earning up to the minimum wage (R$2,640) or registered with the federal government’s CadÚnico;

Businesses will communicate the amount of discount they are willing to give to each consumer. Auctions will be held depending on the debt category. That is, there will be an auction for water bills, another auction for electricity bills, and so on. The companies offering the biggest discounts win the auction and will have the SA.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the auction is scheduled to begin at the end of next week.

◀️Platform opening: When will the program be available to the public in scope 1. The person will be able to access the government platform (which has not yet been announced) using their username gov.br.

On the platform, there will be a list of debts registered by creditor companies and debit options. If a person wants to take advantage of the discount offer, he can choose between paying in cash or in installments.

The platform is expected to be opened to the public at the end of September.

For Scope 2 of the programme, renegotiations began in July and can be conducted directly with banks.

In this case, only bank debts are renegotiated. That is, it is not possible to renegotiate debts with retailers, water and lighting companies, etc.
