Corey Taylor cancels US festival gig due to knee injury

Corey Taylor has canceled his show in Sacramento, California, USA this Saturday (7). The Slipknot frontman will be one of the main attractions at Aftershock Festival 2023 with his solo band.

The main reason was an injury sustained during last week’s show in Los Angeles. The singer suffered damage to one of his knees, and this moment will require special treatment.

In a press release issued by the composer, he said:

“To my Aftershock friends and family, I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the ceremony today. Last week, during a show in Los Angeles, I fell on stage, causing a significant injury to my knee. Additionally, some band and crew members caught Covid. Therefore, we cannot be. Our health and that of the public is a priority. We are disappointed but hope everyone recovers soon. Thanks for the wonderful tour and we look forward to joining you again soon.

Corey underwent surgery on both knees in May 2019. Weeks later, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” He co-starred with Slipknot in the television show.

The current solo tour will end with Aftershock. Has been on tour in the US since August and has played 28 shows. The tour coincided with the release of Taylor’s second solo album, “CMF2,” on September 15. Wargasm, Oxymorrons and Luna Aura also joined the tour.
