More than 14 hours after the surgery, Brita Gil removed the tumor from her body and reached a state of remission (partial or complete absence of cancer cells in the body). The singer is still in the hospital recovering from surgery, and shared her health on Instagram Stories with her followers.

She appeared to be made up by her friend, a makeup artist Soraya Rocha: “I make myself look like a woman, and remove my nose and stomach bleeds. Can I have this?” In other videos, Gilberto Gil’s daughter showed the view of the city: “I love São Paulo.” In another video, Britta shows a performance on stringed instruments, saying: “Music to warm our hearts.”

Finally, the singer appeared, still in the hospital, lying in her pajamas, along with her friends Jominho, Duh Marinho and Joao Pedro Perez, as well as Soraya. Then Britta talked about her recovery: “I’m recovering here, it’s not easy, no. The catheter came out of the nose and left a small bruise. But we will win! Many changes in the body and adaptation to the colostomy bag.”

The artist will undergo rehabilitation – which includes using a colostomy bag for a while – and then plans to maintain healthy habits to avoid other health problems.

It is worth noting that “forgiveness” and “healing” are two different concepts. The treatment is when the cancer is completely removed, but this cannot be known until at least five years have passed without the appearance of signs of the disease. Before that, the correct term is “remission”, that is, the period during which the disease remains under control. The patient may have no evidence of disease (complete remission), but it is not considered cured, as there is still a risk of the disease returning or there is a need to control it with medication.
