Botafogo lineup: Thiago Nunes identifies first team for 2024 | com.botafogo

Hey Botafogo Ready for the first duel in 2024 and will have some reinforcements on the field for the first match of the year. The match, in the first round of the Carioca Championship, will be played against Madureira, on Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at the Nilton Santos Stadium.

Coach Thiago Nunes named the starting XI that will open the new season on Tuesday, in the final training session – there were 10 days of pre-season in total, seven of them at Itu-SP. Among the new additions should be recently signed defenders Lucas Halter and Alexander Barboza.

The rest of the squad continues with the rule of those who were playing in 2023, except for goal, where Gatito Fernandes was selected while John was not drafted. see below:

Possible Botafogo lineup: Gatito Fernandez; Lucas Halter, Danilo Barbosa and Alexandre Barbosa; Chi Chi, Marlon Freitas, Eduardo and Marshall; Victor Sa, Junior Santos and Tequinho Soares.

Botafogo's idea is to use the first matches in preparation for the season, which already holds the first match in the second phase of the Libertadores on February 21.
