the Asus show through CES 2023 and it is a technology called Asus Spacial Vision, which presents 3D images on a screen notebook without the need to wear special glasses. The feature works through two cameras above the screen and tracks the user’s eyes. With this said, the screen displays 3D images with a certain level of realism, but only to one user at a time.

I visited the Asus booth at CES 2023 in Las Vegas and checked the novelty up close. The experience was a lot of fun, with a more fun 3D effect than many movie theaters out there. The demo was done on the new ProArt Studio Book 16, which has a screen OLED 3.2K resolution with refresh rate 120 Hz.

The ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED, the laptop’s full name, is aimed at professional use. According to Asus, it is the first mobile 3D workstation for creators. It’s possible game or watch Movies In 3D, but the main goal of the manufacturer is to allow the creation of 3D content in a faster and easier way, and to do without glasses or more powerful headphones.

It should be noted that the principle of the 3D effect is that there are two slightly different images, each facing one eye, so that there is a sense of depth. 3D glasses filter each of these images, which are then superimposed on the screen. With Asus technology, cameras do the job.

Another ProArt Studiobook ran a more complex application, effectively demonstrating the technology’s possible uses. The notebook was connected to a zSpace sensor and stylus, which allowed interaction with the content displayed on the screen. The pen display is a kind of laser, which is a common thing in pads augmented reality. It was possible to select pieces of the chessboard and move them freely.

Other demonstrations included holding a butterfly, or visualizing the inside of a human heart, examples that would often be associated with future literature. It would have taken something and brought it very close to my face, allowing for a more detailed view.
