Anita was going to use the video to promote her new album

according to Globo newspaperSinger Anita is being sued for misuse of image and moral and material damages. The lawsuit was filed by sales promoter Pollyana da Silva Ribeiro, 28, who seeks R$150,000 in damages. Pollyanna claims that the singer posted on social media a choreography of herself and five of her friends in 2012, to promote her album “Versions of Me” in 2022.

Ten years later, the dancers in the video were frightened when they saw the recording on Anita’s page, which had millions of views. The promoter, who is also the author of the choreography, stated that the singer’s goal was to attract attention with the group’s video and thus benefit her release album. The video had already received more than 6 million views before it was removed from the artist’s profile.

About the process

According to the trial taking place in the 7th Civil Court of Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro, at that time, Pollyana was a teenager and danced in a group called “Cia Fissura” and created the choreography called Wislania, which became an Internet meme. The singer then invited her followers to listen to the album she recently released.

Hahahaha Did you listen to versions of me today? “This song is GATA with @chenchocorleone and this funk at the end that @dennisdj left on piquizin Brasil,” she wrote in the now-deleted post. Pollyanna is still interested in holding a reconciliation session with the artist. Anita has not commented yet the topic.
