The names of the winners of the Confap Prize for Science, Technology and Innovation – Professor Joanna Dobereiner – 2023 edition will be revealed on Wednesday, the 13th, and Santa Catarina will compete. The state was represented in the Outstanding Researcher category with Regina de Fátima Peralta Muniz Moreira, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), in the Exact Sciences subcategory. The award will be presented during the 63rd National Forum of Consecti & Confap, in Brasilia.

Regina holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Maringá, a Master's and PhD in Chemistry from UFSC and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Porto, and is a professor and researcher in the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering at UFSC. He has experience in the field of chemical engineering, focusing on waste treatment and the use and application of nanotechnology processes, and mainly works on the following topics: effluent treatment, adsorption, advanced oxidation processes and heterogeneous catalysis.

The award presented by the National Council of State Institutions for Research Support (Confap) aims to select researchers with works that contribute to the development of science, technology and innovation (CTI) and communications professionals who work in its dissemination. From CTI.

The handover ceremony will be attended by Fapesc's Director of Science, Technology and Innovation, Valeska Tratske, and Fapesc's Strategic Planning and Programs Advisor, Marcos Oliveira. For Valeska, the award is an important recognition of the work done by the ecosystem and celebrates the work and dedication of professionals committed to the development of their states.

The 63rd National Forum of Consecti & Confap is convened by the National Council of Secretaries for Science, Technology and Innovation (Consecti) and the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (Confap), in partnership with the Federal District Research Support Foundation (Fapdf). .
