An actor from Minas Gerais defends the female character in the new Globo series

Rio de Janeiro That life is not easy is nothing new. It’s really hard to maintain hope for better days when reality sweeps in and sends dreams and plans far away. “Volta por Acima”, a 7pm TV series on Globo that premieres Monday (9/30), written by Claudia Soto, with artistic direction by Andre Cámara, revolving around the story of Maddalena (Jessica Elen) and Jorge (Faricio Polivera) . .

Maddalena, Mada, gives up her dreams of providing for her family and, even in the face of life’s setbacks, believes in the future. Jorge, known as Gao, worked hard to obtain a diploma in management, but in time lost his position at the bus company where he started as an exchange for a friend, recommended by his boss’s wife. But, of course, they have to change things going forward.

At a press conference, Tuesday (9/24), in the city of the series that depicts the fictional Villa Cambuca, on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Claudia Soto, the author of the series, said that the idea arose from the desire to talk about the daily life of a Brazilian who wakes up every day to give back. .

Rio suburb

Developing the story on the outskirts of a big city and having a bus company is, in the author’s opinion, a way to speak to everyone. “The suburbs are where Brazilian is spoken, and the bus is common throughout the Brazilian territory,” he summed up.

For Andre Camara, the biggest challenge was bringing the author’s ideas and desires to life. References were sought in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro – Madureira, Cascadura, Marechal Hermes, Quintino, Vila da Penha – which, according to the artistic director, have dialogues with the suburbs of Brazil. Claudia also says that one interest was to show a diverse country through the cast. “We are looking for a Brazilian screen that will be well represented in our series,” Camara added.

The writer-director stated that on the eve of the premiere, the only concern was for the audience to enjoy and be moved by the series. Ratings, at least until then, are not a cause for stress or anxiety for the duo.

The heroine’s friend

Minas Gerais of Congonhas, in the central region of the state, Amore LorenzoHe makes his second novel in “Volta por Acima”. A moment that reinforces the thoughts of the actor who began his artistic career in his hometown, then moved to Rio de Janeiro and paved his career in theater and television 28 years ago. “I look at all of this with great pride, great happiness and a great deal of humility and great simplicity,” he says.

The actor’s first work on the small screen, with the character Ramiro, achieved great success in the film “Earth and Passion” by director Sir Carrasco, which ended its showing in January of this year.

In “Volta por Acima,” Amore plays Chico, a friend of Mada, the heroine of the story, and the son of Mr. Moreira (Toneco Pereira). The character also maintains a relationship with Roxelle (Isadora Cruz).

About Chico, the actor from Minas Gerais says the character is the opposite of Ramiro. “He’s a man from Rio de Janeiro, light and cheerful. He’s engaged to Maddalena, but he has a mistress, Rochelle. I’m joking like that, it’s not that he’s a scoundrel, it’s a man who loves too much,” he commented. Then you ask me: What is this, my affairs, are you defending a traitor? But he does not act on it and puts his foot down,” he said, without going into details about Chico’s future.

Action and reaction

Amore disapproves of Chico’s behavior and says the character will have to face the consequences. “The Claudia Soto series is very beautiful in that sense. All the characters, at some point, need to sort themselves out, because life takes its toll. When you push your stomach, life takes its toll. And then you have to endure his famous turn.”

Connect with Minas

Despite staying away from Minas for nearly three decades, Amurri Lorenzo claims to have a very deep connection with his hometown of Congonhas. He mentions important names for his squad, such as Ze Felix Junqueira, Zizeka, and Joao Sabara. “I’m always in Congonhas, I’m always there.” He excitedly said that he will participate in next year’s Portela parade, which will pay tribute to Milton Nascimento, “our strong compatriot of Minas Gerais.” When he looks back on his career, the actor is also grateful. Those who fought with me, my brothers, the masters, the teachers who passed by me,” he says.
