An online workshop will discuss the presence of Women in Science on Tuesday (8), starting at 4 p.m. Under the title “Women in Science,” the discussion will address developments in gender equality in science and universities, as well as the challenges and overcoming of women in research.

The program will take place on the channel of the Faculty of Animal Science and Food Engineering (FZEA / USP), on Youtube. To participate it is not necessary to register.

The event will bring together professors from Brazilian colleges such as the Luiz de Queiroz Graduate School of Agriculture (Esalq/USP), FZEA and the College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences (FMVZ/USP). The workshop also includes the participation of the Editor-in-Chief of Nature, Vice President of USP, Parent in Science Representative, Mother and Doctor of Science from FZEA and Director of the Women’s Association. in science.

For Professor Alain Silva Milo Cesar, of Esalq, increasing women’s participation in all areas of work is a reality. “Women have proven that they are also capable of shouldering responsibilities that until recently were only entrusted to men, and they have performed their roles with competence and expertise,” he said.

Allen comments that women stand out in the scientific profession even in the face of daily barriers and challenges, such as juggling work and family time and dealing with constant sexual manifestations and acts.
