Vinicius Lopez says he celebrated his first goal with Botafogo “with fury” after refereeing errors and warns: “Now I think he opened the door”

Vinicius Lopez scored his first goal for Botafogo last Sunday, in the historic return to beat Internacional 3-2, with one player less from the start, in Porto Alegre. In support of the Saudi Football Association, the striker called up the moment and said he celebrated the goal with “anger” after the referee’s silly mistake.

I think I celebrated more anger than happiness, as it were, but thank God it came at a good time, when the team needed it. I just have to commend the strength of the group. That unfair punishment carried out by (Philippe) Sampaio was an additional incentive, we had to run for him and for the master who was unfairly expelled – remember the striker, to Botafogo TV.

– It was a victory that gave us a lot of morale, as it were, with one less. Just congratulate the group. I’m really happy. I just want to thank Botafogo for the opportunity to play here, I will defend this shirt with great will, and that I will never lack – he added.

Shortly after arriving at Botafogo, who was still in pre-season, Vinicius Lopez fractured his fifth metatarsal in his left foot and was only able to make his debut in the Campeonato Carioca semi-finals, in March. Now, the striker has been in Brazil for five matches.

– I am very satisfied, the whole team welcomed me when I arrived. At first I was a bit shy, but now with a good streak of games I’m starting to loosen up more and have to grow. The first goal has already been scored and now the door has been opened for the others out there – he predicted.
