Windows 11 Preview! Microsoft releases the first version download (22000.51)

Updated Windows 11 preview with improved notification design, focus assist, and more

Starting with the Notification Center, we now have the Focus Assistant, which lets you hide visual distractions while playing games or watching something full screen on your PC. This feature is already present in Windows 10, but it is still missing in Windows 11.

The new design of Windows 11 Preview also brings a new design to the hidden icon space that now contains the rounded corners that are already throughout the system interface in this new version. Microsoft warns that display errors may occur for this item, in which case it is recommended to switch between active themes in the system settings.

More details about this release include new calendar and animation tweaks in the Microsoft Store, new visual alerts for taskbar icons, and bug fixes already in previous versions.

The new build began shipping earlier this week to Insider members on a phased basis, so it may take some time for it to be made available to everyone. Finally, this is still a beta version with known issues, so it is not recommended for everyday use.
