Ukraine accuses Russia of failing to implement ceasefire agreement The gas has been rising for three days. Wall Street in red – Markets in a minute

Despite the promised ceasefire, Russia will attack Azovstol

Despite Russia declaring a ceasefire on Thursday morning, the Ukrainian military has said that Russian forces are “trying to destroy” the last guards of the Azovstel Steelworks in Mariupol.

“Russian occupiers are trying to attack and destroy Ukrainian sections of the Azovstal territory,” the Ukrainian military said in a statement issued this morning.

The Ukrainian military’s condemnation came just hours after the Kremlin (Russian president) announced on Wednesday night that his forces would begin a five – hour GMT (06:00) in Lisbon this Thursday evening and maintain a three – day ceasefire. The evacuation of about 200 civilians still in Azovstal, according to Mariupol Mayor Vadim Poychenko.

In a video released Wednesday night, Denis Prokopenko, commander of the Azov Brigade, which heads the site’s security, pointed out that Russian forces had entered the steel plant and fought “violent and bloody wars.”

In a video posted on the Telegram News Network, he admitted that “the enemy had been inside the factory premises for two days.” “I am proud of my soldiers for their inhumane efforts to counter enemy attacks. I thank the whole world for the tremendous support given to Mariupol Garrison. Our soldiers deserve it,” he added.

The Azovstal factory, a large steel complex crossed by underground networks, is the last stronghold of Ukrainian militant resistance against the Russian army in the strategic port city of Mariupol.

The surrender or capture of these soldiers would be a significant victory for Moscow. This Thursday, Mayor Vadim Boychenko called for the continued evacuation of civilians from the city, which was carried out with the help of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. “We are fighting together to save every person who lives in Mariupol,” he promised.
