Toughest matches for the Milwaukee Brewers in the New Year

It’s fair to say that the Milwaukee Brewers’ season is well and truly over. The team had quite a bad time playing against the Atlanta Braves. Their 5-4 loss ensured that the Braves took the National League Division Series after winning three games to one.

The Milwaukee Brewers were originally shut out during the second and third games of the series. However, their bad results are something that the Brewers need to try to put behind them.

Time to take a gamble?

While it may be hard to put their losses behind them, the team needs to take a gamble and go for broke in the New Year. The trouble is, this may be harder to accomplish than they think. Anyone who wants to place a bet on the Milwaukee Brewers may find that the odds aren’t great. However, many teams with bad odds have managed to delight those who have wagered their hard-earned money on them. One thing that the Milwaukee Brewers are probably already aware of is Shohei Ohtani’s recent victory. Crowned an American League Most Valuable Player, Ohtani is a force to be reckoned with. Having become – by unanimous vote – the 19th Most Valuable Player in the history of the game, Ohtani and his team are already off to a flying start.

If this was not enough, the Angels recently made what was to be the off-season’s biggest move – they re-signed closer Raisel Iglesias. This was a four-year deal and cost an incredible $58m. The very new contract that was signed early in December 2021 will give the Los Angeles Angels a lot more flexibility.

Known to be one of the very best closers in the game of baseball, Iglesias has 34 saves to date and posts a 2.57 ERA. Now, can anyone in the Milwaukee Brewers say that they can match this record?

The date when the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Angels are set to meet is February 26. Chances are it will be one of the toughest games the Brewers will ever have to face. The sun may shine on them that day, but in reality, they could be left in the shade.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks have recently made more than 24 changes to their front office team. One of the new additions to the team is Jason McLeod, a veteran baseball operations executive. With 26 years of experience, which includes 10 years with the Chicago Cubs, McLeod will help the Diamondbacks to rebuild once more. The Diamondbacks did have the second worst record in the history of the franchise. However, they seem to be back, somewhat bigger and stronger than ever before.

Two underdogs

So why would playing the Arizona Diamondbacks be one of the toughest games for the Milwaukee Brewers? It’s simply because two underdogs will be going head-to-head. No matter what happens for the Brewers on February 26 against the Angels, they’ll face the Diamondbacks on the 27th.

What this means is the Milwaukee Brewers will either have to prove that they can win more than one game – that is if they do actually beat the Los Angeles Angels. Otherwise, they will have to work hard to prove that they can conquer the downbeat Diamondbacks and bring themselves to victory.

When two underdogs meet, they know that they both have to work very hard. There may be a lot of barking and a lot of biting, but there is a real need for each team to prove just how good they really are.

There is a lot of pressure on the Milwaukee Brewers to perform well in both games. However, they may surprise us all and win both games and win them well. This is not something that a lot of people are expecting, but all we can do is wait.

It’s fair to say that almost all of the matches that the Milwaukee Brewers have in the New Year will be hard for them. However, if they can win the first two, the future could start to look bright for them once more.
